About Us

Our Purpose
The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated was established in 1937 in Harlem under the Imperial Solomonic patronage of Emperor Haile Selassie I to unite, protect, and empower black people worldwide; extend repatriation and cultural ties, and build international black solidarity. Our purpose is to restore Black identity as a symbol of resilience, sovereignty, and sacred legacy through organized action and divine mission. Ethiopia is the origin and cradle of humanity and civilization therefore all humanity are Ethiopia’s sons and daughters; and we are a living bridge between Ethiopia and her global children—committed to justice, organization, mobilization, cultural dignity, and spiritual renewal.

Our Emperor & Founder
Our Emperor & Founder Born Lij Tafari Makonnen in 1892 of the Solomonic dynasty (Bloodline of King David, King Solomon, and Queen Sheba), rose through Ethiopia’s ranks—Governor, Ras, and Regent (King)—before being crowned Emperor and taking his baptismal name as His new name. Crowned Emperor Haile Selassie The First on November 2, 1930, receiving the prophetic titles King of Kings, Conquering Lion of The Tribe of Judah, Lord of Lords and sparking a global liberation movement. His visionary leadership—modernizing Africa’s institutions, championing justice, and forging international alliances—laid the foundations for a sovereign global community rooted in unity, justice, and self-determination.

Our Vision
We envision globally connected and self-sufficient black communities, equipped with its own institutions, cooperative enterprises, and systems of education, communication, kinship, and development. Our aim is to build international alliances, secure land and resources, and coordinate action across Locals to achieve economic independence. By restoring trust, unity, and strategic coordination among our people, we create a future where our unity leads to progress and our collective will shapes global impact.

Our Crown Council
The Crown Council of Ethiopia stands as a living link to Ethiopia’s unbroken heritage, safeguarding lawful order, cultural identity, and the shared destiny of black people worldwide. Created as a Constitutional body by Emperor Haile Selassie and rooted in the Nile Valley Hebreo-Christian tradition, it works to unite Ethiopia and the diaspora through heritage preservation, lawful governance, and cooperative progress. By blending ancestral authority with modern strategy, the Crown remains a guiding standard for dignity, sovereignty, and collective advancement.

Support the Rastafari Community in Ethiopia
This campaign advocates for legal recognition and protection of Rastafarian settlers in Shashamane who face harassment, eviction, and lack of residency rights despite Emperor Haile Selassie’s historic land grant. It supports a community still standing for dignity and belonging in their “Promised Land”. It features both a petition which we urgently need signatures and a gofundme.
