This raffle is open to all EWF Members, however if you are not a Member you can still support The EWF by purchasing raffle tickets. Your participation helps sustain the Federation while celebrating one of the most inspiring moments in African history.

The Victory of The Battle Adwa White Tie Gala is a distinguished white tie affair commemorating the 130th Anniversary of Ethiopia’s historic triumph at the Battle of Adwa.
On March 1, 1896, Ethiopia safeguarded its sovereignty and inspired liberation movements throughout Africa and the diaspora.
Hosted under the patronage of His Imperial Highness Prince Ermias Sahle-Selassie, President of the Crown Council of Ethiopia, the evening stands as more than a gala—it is a tribute to Ethiopia’s indomitable spirit, rich heritage, and enduring legacy.

Official Raffle Rules and Terms
The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated – Victory of the Battle of Adwa White Tie Gala Ticket Raffle and Member Ticket
The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated (EWF) International Executive Council (IEC) is hosting an official fundraising raffle for Members and Locals to win one of two tickets to the 130th Anniversary of the Victory of the Battle of Adwa White Tie Gala, scheduled for March 7, 2026 in Washington, D.C.
By submitting a raffle entry or purchasing a Members ticket, you agree to the following official terms and conditions.
1. Eligibility
- This raffle is open exclusively to The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated Members.
- The Members tickets are exclusively for Members of The Ethiopian World Federation, Incorporated and their Guests.
- Non-members may donate to the Federation to show support, however will not be eligible to win raffle tickets nor eligible to purchase Members tickets.
2. Entry Requirements
- Raffle entries require a donation of $28.00 USD per entry.
- There is no limit on the number of entries an eligible member may purchase.
- All entries must be submitted through the official IEC-authorized donation platform or link.
3. Entry Closing Date
- Raffle entries close on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 11.59PM EST.
- Entries received after this date will NOT be accepted.
4. Draw Date
- The official raffle drawing will take place on:
Saturday, February 21, 2026. - Two winners will be selected at random under the supervision of the IEC.
- Winners will be announced through official EWF communication channels.
5. Non-Refundable Policy
- All raffle entries are strictly non-refundable.
- Donations made for raffle participation cannot be returned for any reason.
- Members Victory of Adwa Gala tickets purchased from the IEC for $280.00 are also non-refundable.
6. Ticket Conditions
All gala tickets obtained through the raffle or purchased Members tickets are:
NON-REFUNDABLE
AND
NON-TRANSFERABLE
This means:
- Tickets are issued to the named Member or Local only.
- Tickets cannot be sold, assigned, or transferred to another person.
- Tickets are valid only for the named holder.
- Tickets are not transferable between Members, friends, or family.
7. Non-Transfer Restrictions
- You cannot win a ticket and gift/give it to someone else.
- You cannot sell or exchange a ticket for money.
- Prizes consist solely of event admission tickets and have no cash alternative.
8. Supplemental Rule: Ticket Gifting Allowance
An important exception applies for members who have already supported the Federation through ticket purchases:
If a Member wins a raffle ticket and has also purchased a Members ticket from the IEC, the Member may gift one of their tickets to another individual of their choosing.
The following conditions apply:
- All tickets remain non-refundable.
- Raffle entries remain non-refundable.
- Tickets are still non-transferable except for this specific allowance.
- A gifted ticket cannot be resold, auctioned, or exchanged for money.
- The winning Member must personally attend the event and may only gift the additional ticket they possess.
This clause is intended solely to provide flexibility to Members who have already purchased tickets in good faith prior to the raffle drawing.
9. Selection of Winners
- Winning Members must confirm attendance within the timeframe specified by the IEC.
- If a winner is unable to attend, the IEC reserves the right to draw an alternate winner.
- Winners are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and related expenses.
10. General Conditions
- The IEC reserves the right to amend these rules if necessary to comply with event or organizational policies.
- All decisions made by the IEC regarding eligibility and prize awards are final.
